The Werner Health Sciences Center, located on the Omaha campus, houses an interprofessional simulation center that supports education across multiple health science disciplines. The center utilizes high-fidelity human patient simulators, task trainers, medical-grade equipment, and other advanced technologies to facilitate psychomotor skills training and simulated learning experiences. This position serves as a liaison between program-specific simulation educators, third-party vendors, and Creightonâ??s Division of Information Technology to ensure optimal functionality of all simulation equipment and software. Responsibilities include operating, maintaining, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing simulation equipment/software, as well as managing related records and maintenance schedules.
Essential Functions:
Simulation Program Support
â?¢ Serves as a liaison between third-party vendors, local IT support, and end users.
â?¢ Oversees the maintenance and functionality of all simulation equipment and software in accordance with best practices.
â?¢ Works with simulation educators to select appropriate simulation equipment, assists with operating/programing equipment to meet learning outcomes.
â?¢ Schedules repairs, upgrades, and maintenance in accordance with center schedules to ensure learner events are not disrupted.
Simulation Lab Support
â?¢ Assist faculty and students with the set-up and execution of all simulation activities.
â?¢ Ensure availability of lab equipment and disposables as directed by simulation center guidelines
Simulation Center Office Support
â?¢ Maintains inventory of hardware and disposables.
â?¢ Assists in ordering of supplies and equipment relevant to the simulation center.
â?¢ Assists in the creation and updating of setup checklists and documentation.
â?¢ Assists in creating tutorial materials for faculty and staff related to the troubleshooting and operation of simulation technology.
Product Research and Testing
â?¢ Research new simulation technologies.
â?¢ Tests updates before center wide implementation.
â?¢ Stays current on best practices related to simulation technology.
â?¢ Ensure simulation center is adhering to university data and security standards.
